The department of Cardiology has excellent infrastructural facilities coupled with a dedicated team of medical, technical and paramedical personnel. Round-the-clock emergency cardiac care and cardiac ambulance services are available. The department runs a 15 bedded Intensive Coronary Care unit with state-of-the-art emergency equipment such as ventilators, monitors, syringe / infusion pumps and external pace maker.
A sophisticated cardiac cath-lab with digital cardiovascular angiography system is available, by the use of which coronary angiogram, paediatric angiogram, balloon angioplasty (PTCA) and stenting, mitral and pulmonary balloon valvotomies, PDA coil closure, ASD closure and peripheral embolisations are performed. Radial arterial angiograms and angioplasties are also being performed.
The department has the most advanced Colour Doppler System for cardiac imaging. A unique preventive cardiology unit advocates both preventive and rehabilitative measures.
