The department of Medical Education plays a vital role in improving learning, teaching abilities and personality development. The faculty is trained in effective teaching skills, learning, evaluation, human resource development and research methodology. Other activities include enhancing learning skills and personality development for the undergraduate students, human resource development workshops for interns, research methodology workshops for postgraduates and short courses in basic computer skills, and biostatistics for all the students and faculty.

The department has dedicated and experienced core group members who also conduct similar programmes to other institutions. The computer resource centre is used extensively by faculty and students.
