The department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology has an important role in undergraduate and post graduate medical education and training. It is responsible for major clinical contribution to the women's health services in the region and has a strong research base.

The Obstetrics division offers antenatal clinic on all days of the week and has a well equipped labour ward which offers routine and emergency services. Facilities for management of high risk pregnancies, continuous monitoring of both mother and baby, and intensive care of newborn are available. Painless labour is offered to patients who opt for it. Special clinics such as family planning clinic, dietary clinic, yoga clinic for prenatal women and weight reduction are conducted on a regular basis.

The Gynaecology section has state-of-the-art diagnostic equipments including high end ultrasound machines , doppler, colposcope, hysteroscope etc and offers conventional as well as laparoscopic surgical facilities. Infertility clinic, cancer screening clinic and urogynaecology clinic add vigor to the department. Special services such as endometrial ablation and thermochoice are offered to women with excessive bleeding.
